New England Patriots: 3 players to watch against Arizona – No.2: Sony Michel

It seemed like Sony Michel would make his return in Week 11 but that wasn’t the case. Now it almost seems guaranteed that Michel will get some playing time against Arizona.

With Rex Burkhead out for the season, New England’s once deep running back group has taken a hit. The Patriots will need players to step up.

We have already seen Damien Harris step up in Michel’s absence. In just a short period of time, Harris already has three games with over 100 yards rushing.

Michel will be fighting for his job for the rest of 2020. If he doesn’t perform well he will fall behind Harris and maybe even Burkhead on the depth chart.

The big thing for Michel will be getting in the end zone and not getting stopped at the line of scrimmage. Those are two issues that have plagued him so far in his NFL career.

If Michel is able to fix those problems there just might be a spot for him on New England’s roster. But if Michel can’t get going, the New England Patriots might just get rid of the running back and make him one of the biggest bucks in recent draft history.
