The New England Patriots clearly need some help at wide receiver and these three free agent wide receivers would help the passing game a ton.

If there is one thing that New England Patriots fans have seen in 2020, it’s that the offense needs an overhaul. New England’s passing game is nonexistent at the moment.

This isn’t Cam Newton’s fault either. Most of the blame goes to Bill Belichick. He may be the greatest coach of all time, but he is a terrible GM.

New England failed to prepare for life without Tom Brady. If he struggled with the weapons that he was provided, anyone would.

The Patriots needed to make a splash in the wide receiver market. Julian Edelman is nearing retirement and after that there is a lot to be desired. Damiere Byrd and Jakobi Meyers are the only wideouts that you can rely on. They have had some impressive games this season.

So who could New England sign in the offseason to bolster their passing game? Here are three big name wide receivers hitting the free agent market after this season.

New England Patriots: 3 wide receivers team should target in free agency – No.1: Allen Robinson

One of the players who will garner the most attention among teams will be Allen Robinson. Even with Mitchell Trubisky and other mediocre quarterbacks, Robinson has continued to put up big numbers.

In the last two seasons, Robinson has passed the 1,000 yard threshold. He also has 13 touchdowns in that same time span.

If the Patriots were to get a wide receiver like that it would make a big difference. Newton would be ecstatic that he finally has some real talent. Robinson has the height and athleticism to make some great catches.

Robinson will likely be the most expensive wideout with a projected annual salary of nearly $20 million according to Spotrac, but the price is worth it. He might be so good that the Patriots could become contenders in the AFC.
