This offseason hasn’t been the easiest for New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, but he seems reenergized and ready to dominate another season.

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons this offseason. It started after the Super Bowl when he said that he may retire, and then there was his bizarre press conference for Monster Energy at Gillette Stadium, which all led to the trade rumors.

Now Gronkowski is preparing for the regular season and is ready to have another great year.

"“I’m super excited about the upcoming season,” he said. “It’s going to be fun. We’ve got another year, another training camp — always a grind, gotta get yourself through that — (I’m) just excited for the season. You know how it goes. Another year down, you know what to expect going into Year 9. You know how to do it, so I kind of feel like that’s always good to have in the back of your mind. You know how to do it, you know what to do, so I’m super excited for this year.”"

Gronkowski will once again be a big part of the Patriots offense. With the departures of Brandin Cooks and Danny Amendola, Gronkowski’s targets will be increasing even more.

Gronk will be here for a while

After the talks about Gronk wanting to retire, this makes you think that he won’t be leaving the league that soon.

He may already be the most dynamic tight end to ever play the game, but he still has some work to do. You can never have too many rings.

Also with the retirement rumors Gronkowski will have something to prove to fans and himself. He will look to show that he can still dominate defenses and make insane catches.

When the Patriots are in the red zone, Gronkowski will be looked on to bring down jump balls.

With Julian Edelman out for the first 4 games, Gronkowski will need to have a good start to the season.  Defenses will be focusing on him as he will be Tom Brady’s favorite target. If Gronkowski struggles to get open and make catches it could cause the New England Patriots to start the season off on the wrong foot.

Rob Gronkowski seems focused on football which can be dangerous for the rest of the NFL. When Gronk Mode is activated there is nothing defenses can do to stop him. Hopefully, we will see a lot more Gronk spikes this season.
