Boston Bruins injury update: Team loses another major player
By Sam Minton
The Boston Bruins continue to lose major players.Patrice Bergeron will be out for 4-6 weeks and continue to get dealt blow after blow.
This sucks. This absolutely sucks. After losing Zdeno Chara for a month, the Boston Bruins were suffering. Now Patrice Bergeron will be out for 4-6 weeks and the Bruins feel like they are a walking hospital.
Bergeron was having such a great season. In just 19 games he had 9 goals and 17 assists. It seems like whenever a goal is scored, Bergeron has something to do with it.
Now Bergeron will be out for a while. He was diagnosed with a rib and sternoclavicular injury. That doesn’t sound fun. I’m stunned that Bergeron tried to play with this amount of pain. He is an absolute warrior.

The hit that caused the injury was questionable. Bergeron was driven into the boards away from the puck but it wasn’t an egregious dirty hit by Radek Faska of the Dallas Stars.
So now the Bruins will need to somehow replace his scoring. I personally liked the lines that Bruce Cassidy rolled out. David Krejci and David Pastrnak love playing with each other and Brad Marchand and Jake DeBrusk can cause chaos for defenses.
I was stunned that the Bruins were able to defeat the Arizona Coyotes in their last game so hopefully, they will be able to win without Bergeron.
The good news for the Bruins is that they will be getting some players back. Charlie McAvoy and Urho Vaakanainen are nearing a return, and it looks like Kevan Miller will be playing on Wednesday.
Boston is running out of defenseman so having Miller back will be great. Watching games you can see players going after some of the Bruins best players. With Miller coming back Boston will have a guy that instills fear everytime he steps on to the ice.
The Boston Bruins continue to get more and more obstacles put in front of them. How much more can they take?
