Boston Bruins: David Krejci thriving on first line
By Sam Minton
David Krejci has been playing great as of late. Bruce Cassidy now has to consider tinkering with the Boston Bruins lines.
The Boston Bruins are playing some great hockey. They are looking like a dominant team who has a chance to make a run for the Stanley Cup.
Fans were worried when Zdeno Chara and Patrice Bergeron went down. Somehow the Bruins have found a way to win without two important pieces.
Since Bergeron is out, David Krejci has been upgraded to the first line. This has been great for Krejci.

David Krejci has been a victim of Boston’s stacked top line. He hasn’t had great players flanking him on the 2nd line. Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak are a serious upgrade.
In Krejci’s last five games he has 3 goals and 4 assists. He is absolutely on fire.
Boston needs to break up the 1st line
Now Bruce Cassidy has an interesting scenario. He has to decide if he wants to keep the first line together when Patrice Bergeron returns or split the dominant line up.
I think Boston’s best decision is splitting up the first line. David Pastrnak should join David Krejci and Joakim Nordstrom on the 2nd line. When Jake DeBrusk returns to the lineup he should be on the 1st line with Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand.
This will make Boston a much more balanced team. The 1st line won’t be great in every game. It just isn’t possible. By moving David Pastrnak to the 2nd line you will get better matchups and probably score more goals. David Pastrnak was dominating on the 1st line, imagine when he goes up against lesser talent.
David Krejci has proven that when he has some talented guys around him he can play great. Hopefully, his success will continue when the Bruins get healthy.
