Danny Ainge had the dreams of making the Boston Celtics one of the NBA’s top teams filled with superstars, but now it looks like all the moves they made were worthless.

The Boston Celtics had a plan in place to ensure that they would be one of the top teams for years to come and a destination for free agents. After last season’s disaster of a season that won’t be the case.

The 2018-19 season couldn’t have gone any worse. Boston struggled to gel as a team and ended up getting bounced from the playoffs much earlier than expected.

More from Chowder and Champions

This was supposed to be the season that all fans have been dreaming about. Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward were supposed to lead the Boston Celtics all the way to the NBA Finals.

Now we don’t know if Kyrie Irving is returning to the team and some fans would rather him leave. Gordon Hayward looks like he will never be the player that he was in Utah.

When Danny Ainge acquired these guys it set a plan in motion. One that would hopefully bring another megastar to Boston and hopefully make the team a champion once again. The dream of Anthony Davis was born.

Now it seems like Davis won’t be coming to Boston and one of the reported reasons was Danny Ainge’s lack of loyalty to players. The Celtics are also backing off their pursuit of Davis.

Now a lot of the variables were rather unpredictable but last year didn’t look good for Ainge. The big moves he made couldn’t have gone any worse. Now it looks like the Celtics will be stuck in the middle and never be great enough to get to the NBA Finals.

The only redeeming factor of the team is that they have young stars. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are talented players, but will they be enough to make it to the NBA Finals?

Next. D’Angelo Russell should be on teams’ radar. dark

Danny Ainge’s dream of making another big 3 has died and it seems like all of the moves he made these last few offseason were a giant waste.
