Boston Celtics rumors: Isaiah Thomas is never coming back
By Sam Minton
Isaiah Thomas will be linked to the Boston Celtics until he retires, but the C’s shouldn’t bring him back to Boston.
In a rather quick fashion Isaiah Thomas became one of the more beloved Boston Celtics players in recent history. Ever since he left fans have been wondering if he will ever come back.
After the disaster of a season Celtics fans wouldn’t mind a familiar face. At least they know that this point guard won’t mess up the locker room.

Still the Boston Celtics shouldn’t bring Isaiah Thomas back. To put it simply he just isn’t a good basketball player anymore.
Last season was abysmal for Thomas. He only played in 12 games and averaged 8.1 points per game.
The game is just passing Thomas by. He is now on the wrong side of 30 and that has only hurt his game. Especially since he is such a short point guard.
Thomas was a great shooter, but we saw him driving to the lane a lot. He would take a beating and his body seems incapable of taking such contact nowadays.
The Boston Celtics do not need to sign another veteran. They need to give the keys to young guys like Marcus Smart or Terry Rozier. Give these guys a shot to prove that they can be a starter in the NBA.
Also an amazing player named Kyrie Irving could still possibly return to the team. It seems like a long shot, but none of us really know what is going through Irving’s head. We will all just have to wait and see what happens on July 1st.
So please do not make a mistake and sign Isaiah Thomas. I know Boston Celtics fans were fed up with the team last season, but they will only be worse if they bring back Thomas.
