Boston Celtics rumors: Kyrie Irving says ‘hello Brooklyn’
By Sam Minton
Kyrie Irving fired his agent on Wednesday night and all signs point to him leaving the Boston Celtics and heading to the Brooklyn Nets.
Well, things just seem to keep getting better in Boston. On the same night that the Boston Bruins lost the Stanley Cup, Kyrie Irving made a decision that makes it insanely unlikely that he returns to the Boston Celtics.
With the offseason getting closer and closer, Kyrie Irving decided to fire his agent and now he is being linked to Roc Nation according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

Now the fact that Irving decided on Roc Nation is telling. Obviously one of the more famous faces of the agency is Jay-Z, but there is also a ton of ties to the Brooklyn Nets.
The Nets have emerged as one of the top options for Irving. They are a young team that is coming off a succesful season. Brooklyn made it into the playoffs and has some of the league’s best young stars.
D’Angelo Russell has developed into a formidable point guard and Caris Levert would have been an All-Star if he hadn’t gotten injured.
In the end, Kyrie Irving would be headed to a young team that could compete in the playoffs. If that sounds similar it’s how everyone described the Boston Celtics. I’m pretty sure the Nets will have the same if not worse results than the C’s.
If Irving does decide to leave the Kyrie Irving era will be a massive disappointment. Kyrie was supposed to bring Boston a championship. He was supposed to be the team’s star for years to come.
But the only thing that Kyrie Irving managed to do was be a distraction. He made this entire season about himself and repeatedly showed that he isn’t capable of being a leader.
So even though the Kyrie Irving era is ending I feel the same way that a good chunk of Boston Celtics fans feel. We are happy to see the Kyrie era come to an end.
