The Boston Bruins have signed head coach Bruce Cassidy to an extension and it was definitely the right move.

The Boston Bruins might not have won the Stanley Cup last season, but they have consistently been one of the top teams in the NHL. Head coach Bruce Cassidy has transformed this team into a contender in short time.

Cassidy isn’t afraid to take a risk on young players. We saw Claude Julien be extremely cautions and skeptical in this area. I don’t know if guys like Jake DeBrusk or Sean Kuraly would have gotten a chance to play if Julien was still here.

In a short period of time, Cassidy has shown that he is one of the best coaches in the entire NHL. He has the 4th highest win percentage in franchise history and was the 2nd fastest coach to reach 100 wins.

The Bruins are making the smart move. They are locking Cassidy up and ensuring some stability behind the bench for the near future. Boston signed Cassidy to a multiyear extension.

Cassidy really has a chance to become one of the greatest coaches in franchise history. The roster is stable and looks like they will be great for years to come.

It wouldn’t be crazy if Cassidy ended his career with a few Stanley Cups under his belt. Now Cassidy hasn’t won a cup yet but I think he is already better than Claude Julien.

Cassidy is a genius when creating lines and his risk-taking is something fans enjoy. Julien handcuffed his own team with his inability to adapt to the increased speed and skill of today’s game.

Next. Game 7 loss still haunting Bruins. dark

The 2019-20 season looks like it will be another fun one for Boston Bruins fans. Hopefully this time they will be the ones to lift up the Stanley Cup at the end of the season.
