With Jaylen Brown getting a massive payday, Boston Celtics fans are now expecting a lot from the young player.

I hope that Jaylen Brown feels special because he just became a unique player. The Boston Celtics just gave him quite the birthday present.

It seemed like Brown and the Celtics were struggling to reach a deal to keep Brown on the team for the near future. He reportedly denied the team’s latest attempt to sign him.

Well, things sure did change. Brown signed a new $115 million deal that will ensure that he is apart of this Celtics team for a long time.

Now that is quite the number. I don’t think Celtics fans (or anyone) was expecting Boston to pay that much before the start of the season.

The fact that the Celtics decided to re-sign Brown is quite impressive as well. Brown is the first player since Rajon Rondo to have his rookie deal extended before it expired. That shows how much Brown is valued by the team.

So immediately Jaylen Brown’s expectations have increased. The fact that he is a $115 million man means that he has to prove his worth. If Brown struggles to start the season he will be hearing it from fans.

Now I am hoping to see Brown get close to 20 points per game. He needs to help the team win games especially when guys like Kemba Walker and Jayson Tatum are struggling.

The good thing to come out of the deal is that Brown knows his future is in Boston. He can focus on playing basketball instead of a new contract. If Jayson Tatum continues to improve he and Brown can be quite the duo.

So Jaylen Brown got his payday but as The Notorious B.I.G. said ” mo money, mo problems.” Now Brown has a ton of pressure on his shoulders.
