Ever since getting called up by the Boston Bruins, Jeremy Lauzon has been impressive and may have earned himself a permanent spot on the NHL roster.

When Jeremy Lauzon was called up I didn’t know what to expect. He had been with the NHL squad before but what would he do this season? Well, the Boston Bruins must have seen something because Lauzon is doing great.

Lauzon has been a perfect third pairing defensemen. His job isn’t to be the next Charlie McAvoy. He is supposed to be a lightning rod who can deliver big hits and be a solid stay at home defensemen.

That is exactly what Lauzon has done. His only real setback was his suspension for a dirty hit. It appears Lauzon learned his lesson and has continued playing well.

So far in Lauzon’s 16 games this season he has a goal and an assist but also has a personal rating of 5 and 28 hits.

Lauzon has made things interesting for the future of Boston’s d-pairings. Now there isn’t really a reason to have John Moore on the roster. He has been sub-par ever since signing with the team and has barely played this season. Boston would be better moving on from his almost $3 million cap hit.

Also the emergence of Lauzon has made it more likely that the team moves on from Kevan Miller. He hasn’t played a game yet this season and I think his NHL career might be over. If not he is another player that the Bruins should consider moving on from.

The Bruins have an amazing problem. They are stacked when it comes to defensemen. Besides Lauzon you also have Urho Vaakanainen and Jakub Zboril in the pipeline.

But there is no doubt that Lauzon has been great for the Boston Bruins this season.
