Boston Celtics: Kendrick Perkins has Kevin Garnett’s back
By Sam Minton
Ray Allen continues to talk poorly about the Boston Celtics and Kevin Garnett, but Kendrick Perkins has “the big ticket’s” back.
Ever since he left the Boston Celtics high and dry, Ray Allen has had a poor relationship with the Boston Celtics and the teams fans.
Every player has the right to do what’s best for them. Especially if that means getting more money. An NBA career can only last so long.

Ray Allen stabbed the team in the back. He abandoned them to join a team that just beat them for less money. That type of move isn’t well respected.
Ever since then, Allen’s relationship with the Celtics has been strained to say the least. Kevin Garnett and other former players have been vocal about their disappointment in Allen. Others in recent years such as Paul Pierce have extended an olive branch.
Kendrick Perkins was a member of these classic Celtic teams and recently gave his thoughts on the matter while on Pardon My Take.
"“KG is my big brother, that’s who I rock with, I don’t have no hard feeling against Ray but my loyalty is to Kevin Garnett. And so, if he and Ray decide to talk, then hey, me and Ray can be cool. Other than that, if you’re forcing me to pick sides, I’m rolling with KG all day long.”“I’m rocking with him ’til the casket close.”"
Kevin Garnett will probably hold this grudge till the day he dies and possibly even longer. That is just the type of person he is. KG does everything he can to win no matter who is in the way.
There is plenty of blame to go around when it comes to Ray Allen and the Boston Celtics, but Allen isn’t blameless. He easily could have made things better but he continues to be petty when it comes to Boston.
It is 100 percent not okay to send death threats and I can’t believe Celtics fans would do that, but if Allen came to the Garden for KG’s jersey retirement he likely wouldn’t be booed.
At the end of the day Allen helped the Celtics win a title. You have to appreciate that. Also Celtics fans can get caught up in their feelings. They would probably get sentimental having the entire big 3 back in Boston.
But Kendrick Perkins and most of Boston has Kevin Garnett’s back. If Ray Allen wants to make things right he needs to make the first move.
