New England Patriots fans can be quite the reactionary bunch and that’s why it’s time to remind them to not freak out after the Pats Week 6 loss.

Week 6 was not fun for the New England Patriots. The team played poorly and got beaten by a mediocre Denver Broncos squad, but it’s not time to blow up the roster or panic. This team will be just fine.

Now let’s rip off the bandaid first. New England’s offense couldn’t get anything going. The passing game was dismal and they were barely able to gain momentum on the ground.

But the game wasn’t as bad as it seemed when you put things into perspective.

Fans need to remember that the Patriots have barely practiced these last few weeks. With multiple positive coronavirus tests forcing the facility to shut down.

Practice might not seem important for NFL players, but it’s still a crucial tool. You need to be able to instill your gameplan and prepare for your opponent.

Also, the Patriots were extremely shorthanded. Shaq Mason and David Andrews were unavailable and New England was still without Sony Michel.

The Patriots only continued to lose players as the game progressed. Jermaine Eluemunor got injured when Cam Newton rolled up on his leg. An already depleted offensive line got even worse.

This really affected the Patriots and the offense as a whole. Newton had barely any time to throw and this caused him to make some mistakes.

Finally, the Patriots defense once again showed how talented they were. They didn’t allow a touchdown the entire game. If it wasn’t for the impressive play of Brandon McManus, the Broncos might have even lost on Sunday.

Many players on defense had some great games. Ja’Whaun Bentley had one of his best games of the 2020 season. Bentley racked up 12 tackles including two for a loss. The young linebacker was able to get into the backfield and cause some problems for Denver.

Also, Jonathan Jones had a great game in the secondary. Jones locked down his opponents on Sunday.

It’s hard to get any better than that.

New England’s secondary is one of the best in the NFL. Besides Jones, there is also Stephon Gilmore and J.C. Jackson.

It might seem scary that New England is below .500. It is the first time in 18 years that the Patriots are under .500 in October.

But the Patriots have the talent. New England’s defense has all the skills to win them games and the offense just needs some chemistry and time.

With a full week of practice, New England’s offense should look a lot better. Also if the Patriots offensive line is able to get healthier, Newton should have plenty of time to throw the ball.
