Even though Kemba Walker hasn’t played a game yet for the Boston Celtics he is already having a positive impact.

Everything about Kemba Walker seems to be the antithesis of Kyrie Irving. Unlike Irving, Walker is having a positive impact on the Boston Celtics.

Even after the Celtics acquired Walker they still needed some help. After the loss of Al Horford, the Celtics frontcourt was in dire need of assistance.

It appears that Walker is already extremely committed to the team’s success. He went out of his way to talk to Enes Kanter and the center credits Walker for bringing him to Boston.

"“One of the reasons I picked Boston was because of Kemba Walker,” he said. “He called me during free agency on Danny Ainge’s phone. He said, ‘Hey, how we doing, big man?’ That was special to me.”"

Could you imagine Kyrie Irving taking the time to call a prospective free agent? Irving barely even associated with his teammates. He caused a rift in the locker room which bled on to the court.

Walker may not be the player that Irving is, but he is a much better fit for the Boston Celtics. He is a great scorer, but he doesn’t require the ball as much as Irving does. I expect Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown to flourish with this new look Celtics team.

If the Celtics want to go farther than they did in the playoffs last season they will need Walker to continue to improve. Hopefully, he will continue to inch towards averaging close to 30 points a game.

This season will definitely be an interesting one for the Boston Celtics. The team seems to be a lock for the playoffs in what is now a decimated Eastern Conference, but that isn’t the main focus.

Celtics fans want to be able to cheer for the team. Last season with the attitude of Kyrie Irving the C’s became a tough team to watch. If Walker and the rest of the Celtics have good chemistry this season will be a success.

So it already appears that Kemba Walker is everything that Kyrie Irving wished he could be.
