The Boston Bruins dominated the New Jersey Devils on Thursday night thanks to the always amazing 1st line.

There is something special about the Boston Bruins 1st line. They have a chemistry that we have never seen before. It’s almost like these guys were born to play with one another.

When David Pastrnak, Patrice Bergeron, and Brad Marchand are playing together there is nothing you can do to stop them. They are guaranteed to score a goal at this point.

The line has been amazing this season. They have combined for 229 points. Without the stupendous performance of the Bruins 1st line, the team would be at the bottom of the Eastern Conference.

Now with the moves that the Boston Bruins made at the trade deadline, it seemed like Boston was looking to make the team deeper. With the addition of Charlie Coyle and Marcus Johansson there was the option of moving Pastrnak down to the 2nd line with David Krejci.

This seems like a great idea but it can’t happen now. Especially after the group’s performance on Thursday night. The line combined for 8 points (3 goals, and 5 assists) in the Bruins stomping of the New Jersey Devils.

I wanted to see David Pastrnak on the 2nd line but you just can’t break up this amazing top line. They are simply too good. The risk isn’t worth the reward. You don’t need to create depth when it’s not needed.

There will be concerns about how the line will perform in the playoffs, but let’s just wait until we get there. If they keep playing like this we will have nothing to worry about. I don’t think any team can shut them down.

dark. Next. Zdeno Chara isn't done yet

So Boston Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy shouldn’t overthink things. If he wants to win he needs to keep Brad Marchand, Patrice Bergeron, and David Pastrnak together.
