Boston Bruins Rumors: Why team needs to sign McAvoy and Carlo pronto
By Sam Minton
The Boston Bruins have yet to sign Charlie McAvoy and Brandon Carlo and fans are left wondering why a deal hasn’t been reached.
This offseason it was clear that the Boston Bruins had to re-sign two players, Charlie McAvoy and Brandon Carlo, but for some reason, Boston is being rather lackadaisical.
There is no reason that McAvoy and Carlo shouldn’t be back on the team. They are two key pieces of Boston’s defense.

Both players are coming off of successful seasons. McAvoy continued to light up the stat sheet while Carlo played great in his own zone and managed to stay healthy.
Now I understand that both of these guys are restricted free agents. This gives Boston the chance to match any offer that is made, but why not re-sign these guys who are so important.
Boston’s defense is going to undergo some changes in the near future. Zdeno Chara will retire and so will Kevan Miller a few years after that. Boston needs to ensure that they have a strong defensive corps.
McAvoy is going to be someone to watch. He has all the capabilities of being the next great Boston Bruins defenseman.
Carlo looks like he will be a fixture on the Boston Bruins 2nd defensive pairing for years to come. In a short period of time he and Torey Krug have built a ton of chemistry.
Can the Bruins just please make a move already? I just want to know for a fact that I will be seeing Charlie McAvoy and Brandon Carlo in a Bruins jersey next season.
The team should have plenty of cap space. Right now they have over $7 million to spend.
So please just sign Charlie McAvoy and Brandon Carlo already. Boston Bruins fans don’t want to sit around and wait any longer.
